11th Korea-Central Asia Cooperation Forum

The Korea-Central Asia Cooperation Forum will convene its 11th meeting on November 6–7 at the Millennium Seoul Hilton hotel, attended by vice minister–level officials from Korea and five Central Asian countries. The participants will seek ways of promoting cooperation among the six nations, capitalizing on Korea’s New Northern Policy, as well as energizing multilateral cooperation in Central Asia, especially in the field of environmental policy, including the effective use of water resources and prevention of the desertification of the Aral Sea.
The Korea-Central Asia Cooperation Forum has been held annually since 2007 with the attendance of minister-level and vice minister–level officials. It has witnessed cooperation between Korea and the region expand continuously over the years. Korea has shared its experience of economic and land development with Central Asian countries, and exchanges between the two sides have been active in numerous fields with great potential for bilateral or multilateral cooperation, such as invigorating special economic zones, agriculture, culture, education, health and medical services, energy, and technology. It is greatly hoped that the 11th Forum will contribute to expediting substantial future-oriented cooperation for the co-prosperity of Korea and the Central Asian countries.
