Organized as part of the Korea-France Year 2015–2016 From the Infinite to the Cente The KF Gallery will present an exhibition, “From the Infinite to the Center,” to celebrate 130 years of Korea-France relations, on October 7–26. One of Western Europe’s leading countries, France includes territories that are home to a variety of unique cultures. The works of Jocelyn Akwaba-Matignon, an artist from the French island of Guadeloupe in the West Indies, reveal an aspect of French culture wholly different from the images that come to us from the continental mainland. Although Matignon’s artworks explore individual identity within a multicultural society, he reveals universal truths that can appeal to all people. The exhibition will hopefully inspire viewers to reflect upon their perceptions of diversification and our individual sense of self.
