What makes Korean food popular around the world?
According to the 2021 Global Hallyu Survey, the top factor is “taste,”
with 57.1 percent of survey participants choosing the answer. In Japan
(27.9 percent), India (37.4 percent), the United States (25.1
percent), Great Britain (35.8 percent), Russia (26.1 percent), the
United Arab Emirates (30.7 percent), and South Africa (41.6 percent),
the second most common answer was “healthy ingredients and recipes.”
In other countries, the second most popular answer was “experiencing
Korean food and culinary culture through Korean content.”
