KF Gallery Open Stage 6: An Encounter of Virtuosos, Finnish Pianist Erik Thomas Tawaststjerna and Violinst Lee Sung-ju The KF Gallery’s final open stage event of 2016 will be headlined by two highly acclaimed virtuosos: Erik Thomas Tawaststjerna of Finland and Lee Sung-ju of Korea. Finland’s beloved pianist Erik Thomas Tawaststjerna has performed all over the world and has instructed piano students at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki since 1986. His father, Erik Werner Tawaststjerna, was also a legendary pianist who authored a well-known biography of Jean Sibelius. Joining him on stage will be Lee Sung-ju, one of Korea’s most accomplished violinists, whose enthralling performances are said to blend a seemingly cool detachment with the warmth of an emotional vibrancy. The two masters will immerse the audience in a musical journey with performances of works by Finnish composers Sibelius and Einojuhani Rautavaara, together with those of Korean composer Kim HanKi and Korean songs. We invite you to spend a wistful autumn evening with the fluent melodies of two virtuosos. Apply from October 31 (2 p.m.) to November 3 (6 p.m.) at the KF website (www.kf.or.kr) Attendees will be announced on November 4 (after 3 p.m.).
