Koreana Selected as ‘Outstanding Magazine of 2008’

Koreana, the cultural periodical published by the Korea Foundation, was selected an “Outstanding Magazine of 2008” by the Korea Magazine Association, on April 7.
The Korea Magazine Association’s screening committee, comprised of media professionals, annually reviews and selects noteworthy magazines published in Korea, for various subject areas. This evaluation process involves a careful assessment of the quality of a magazine’s content, editing, layout, photographs, cover design, and overall production. In recognition of its in-depth introduction and presentation of Korea’s culture and arts, Koreana has received this distinction from the Korea Magazine Association for two consecutive years.
Since its inaugural issue in 1987, Koreana has steadily added to its foreign language editions, which currently number eight: English, German, Spanish, French, Arabic, Russian, Chinese, and Japanese. The magazine serves as a valuable medium to publicize Korea’s traditional and contemporary culture to a wide spectrum of readers in their local language.
Koreana is distributed to some 1,600 university and public libraries, research institutions, museums, cultural/artistic organizations, government agencies, and media in about 150 countries worldwide.

It is also accessible at the publication’s website (www.koreana.or.kr).
