- The Best Dutch Book Designs Meet Korean Artists' Books
From June 23 to August 13, the KF and the Dutch Embassy in Korea jointly host the exhibition Versatile Volumes – The Best Dutch Book Designs Meet Korean Artists’ Books at the KF Gallery in Seoul. The exhibition features works recognized by the Best Dutch Book Designs contest, which has been held annually since 1926 in the Netherlands, a country well-known for its graphic and book design. The 33 featured books are Best Dutch Book Designs award-winners that have been selected by a professional jury not only for their graphic design and typographic elements but also their materials, printing methods, and quality of .
The exhibition offers a visual and tactile experience of world-class books, enhancing visitors’ appreciation with an interactive 3D display. It also provides a meaningful encounter between Korean and Dutch book design by presenting an exhibition on design by Dutch graphic design studio Team Thursday; an artistic collaboration between Korean artists RohwaJeong and Kyoungtae Kim; and 17 Korean art books selected by Art Book Press President Cho Sookhyun.
The exhibition can be viewed in person at the KF Gallery or online at the KF website (www.kf.or.kr). In July, a Korea-Netherlands book talk video featuring writer Kim Kyeo-ul (Winter Kim), who runs the YouTube channel Winter Bookstore, is set to be uploaded.
