Recording the Jeju Skies and Clouds
During my first days in Jeju, I was struck by how close the sky appeared to be, perhaps due to the absence of skyscrapers and fine dust. I soon developed the pleasant habit of looking up at the almost touchable sky and photographing its ever-changing face every day.
This “face,” a simple painting drawn by clouds and the colors of the sky, is comparable to dynamic artistry. One day, the blue sky has a multitude of soft fleece clouds scattered across it; on another day, the afternoon sky turns a blazing red as if to foretell the end of the world. Under a pink sky awash with cloud drapery, I feel as if I am in a romantic movie. As long as the Jeju sky and clouds continue their magical transformations, I will continue to follow and appreciate their beauty to the fullest.
